The issue of plastic bottles

Since beverage producers adopted plastic bottles as the main container for soft drinks, the presence of this waste has become a real nuisance.

These bottles are extremely harmful to the environment, taking hundreds of years to decompose completely. They therefore pollute oceans, rivers and soils, risking the lives of the plants and animals that live there.

Pollution is even more direct in the villages, where in the absence of a garbage collection system, the inhabitants are accustomed to burning their waste themselves, breathing in the dioxins, furans, mercury and polychlorinated biphenyls released by combustion.

Recyclable waste collection

In the villages, we organize the collection of plastic bottles to prevent them from ending up on roadsides, or burnt in the fields or in the bush. A company then collects the bottles and takes charge of recycling them.

We also collect plastic bottles for public and private events (weddings, funerals, etc.). These plastic bottles are then passed on to the recycling company.

Raising environmental                      awareness

Older generations are not very sensitive to environmental issues, but younger people are much more attentive. This is especially true when the issues are presented to them in a clear, educational and age-appropriate way.

We are developing training materials to be used in schools, so that young local people can become the driving force behind environmental efforts.
